Dreading those winter heating bills and wondering how to make your home more energy efficient? Call 211 and set up an appointment for a free home energy assessment that might save you some money.
As of today, homeowners can call 211 to set up an appointment with an authorized contractor as part of a new Home Energy Assessment Program. A representative will make sure you qualify — you must own a Westchester property 4,000 square feet or less – and arrange for a professional contractor to call you within 24 hours. The assessments will be made available to 2,000 county residents on a first-come first-served basis.
The homeowner can decide whether or not to go forward with more comprehensive testing and repairs (at their own expense) if needed.
The program is sponsored by Westchester County, the Westchester-Putnam Workforce Investment Board and the Business Council of Westchester.
